Otros Aires and electronica tango in Buenos Aires

Wishing to discover some of the local tunes beyond the hugely successful and godfathers of “electronica tango / electrotango” – the Gotan Project (video below). I was drawn to Otros Aires for the vocal sound and balance of the “electronica tango” mix – which is more in the traditional/classic tango camp than the electronic. Otros Aires are coming to the end of mainly an European tour and last month I was lucky enough to catch live here in Buenos Aires. They were playing at very popular la Viruta, a night and day milonga which is always full of locals and dance tourists. In classic Buenos Aires style Otros Aires didn’t play until after midnight when all their other international gigs kick off at the early hours of 8.00pm!
